ASU Make Kids Matter Initiative (Student Chapter of Make Kids Matter)

The ASU Make Kids Matter Initiative is the Arizona State University student chapter of Make Kids Matter, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving the health, stability, and future of children and families in Arizona’s West Valley.
This initiative transforms ASU students into community leaders by connecting their time, skills, and energy to real families who need support right now.

Our Mission

To mobilize ASU students to improve youth health, food security, education, and family stability in Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, and surrounding West Valley communities.
What We Do
The ASU Make Kids Matter Initiative operates as the campus-based engine for Make Kids Matter’s work in the West Valley. Students organize and lead hands-on programs that directly support children and families, including:
  • Food drives and grocery distributions
  • Backpack and school-supply drives
  • Laptop and technology access for students
  • Hygiene and basic-needs kits
  • Youth wellness and mental-health awareness programs
  • Volunteer service days in local schools and neighborhoods
  • Fundraisers to support emergency family assistance
Students don’t just raise awareness — they help deliver real resources to real families.
