How Matching Gifts Work
Make Kids Matter primarily uses Benevity to verify volunteer hours and receive matching gifts and workplace donations from participating employers. If your company participates in a giving program, your contribution — whether cash or time — may be worth twice as much.
- Your donation may be matched dollar-for-dollar by your employer
- Your volunteer hours may qualify for a volunteer grant to MKM
- Funds are distributed securely through your company's giving platform
- Official letterhead documentation provided to verify volunteer hours upon request
How to Submit
The process is simple — most employers handle everything through a self-service portal.
- 1Donate or volunteer with Make Kids Matter at one of our events or programs
- 2Log into your employer's giving portal (Benevity, CyberGrants, Blackbaud, etc.) and submit your donation or volunteer hours
- 3Make Kids Matter will confirm participation — we can provide official letterhead verification if your employer requires it
- 4Your employer releases the matching funds directly to Make Kids Matter
Every employer's program is different. Check with your HR or benefits team to learn what your company offers.
We Welcome In-Person Volunteers
Make Kids Matter actively accepts volunteers — and if your employer offers Workforce Volunteer Hours or Volunteer Time Off (VTO), we can help you log those hours and get credit through your company's platform.
Whether you help at a distribution event, assist with literacy programming, or support a community wellness day — your time counts. Come in person, make a real difference, and let your employer reward you for it.
Ask your HR or benefits team about your company's giving program on these platforms:
- Benevity
- CyberGrants
- Blackbaud / DEED
- YourCause / CSRconnect
