Where Your Gift Goes

We keep our costs low and our impact high, so nearly every dollar reaches a local child or family. Your support funds free, bilingual programs with no barriers to access:

  • Food and basic needs: About $18 provides food and basic-needs support for one child. A gift of $90 helps feed a family for a week.
  • Literacy and education: $40 sends a child home with new books. Our family literacy program delivers 75% reading improvement among participating children.
  • Health, wellness and STEM: Hands-on learning, nutrition education, and mentorship from Arizona State University students.

Why It Matters

In the communities we serve across Glendale, Peoria, Avondale, Goodyear, Buckeye, and Surprise, roughly one in five children face food insecurity, 34% of families speak a language other than English at home, and many households struggle to afford both food and basic necessities. Most children we serve attend Title I schools where the majority qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Make Kids Matter meets these needs directly, pairing immediate relief with the literacy and life skills that help children thrive.

When you give to Make Kids Matter, you are not funding an abstract program. You are putting a meal on a table, a book in a backpack, and hope in the hands of a child in your own community. Thank you for making a difference for local kids.
