Make Kids Matter is grateful to receive a $1,500 grant from the John F. Long Foundation in support of our Bright Futures Family Literacy and Resource Program.

This program provides free reading workshops, one-on-one tutoring, bilingual parent education, and take-home book distribution to economically disadvantaged children and families across the greater Phoenix Valley. Thanks to this support, we have already served approximately 35 children and family members, including a recent literacy event at the ASU West University Center where participants engaged in hands-on learning with Arizona State University student volunteers.

For many of these children, this is their first consistent access to books at home. We are deeply thankful to the John F. Long Foundation for investing in local kids and helping us build a brighter, more literate future for our community.
